Ken Simpson

18U Gold Miller/Simpson | Head Coach

Ken is the head coach of our top 18U Gold team and supports multiple Ladyhawks teams with college recruiting. He brings many years of experience to the program along with a proven record of success. Ken’s Ladyhawks teams have made deep runs in many national tournaments including a Top 30 finish at TC Nationals (2022) and a Top 8 finish at TC Colorado 4th of July (2022).

At the high school level, Ken led a Garfield Bulldogs program that had never qualified for the playoffs before 2016 to become 3A State Champions in 2019. This State title was the first ever for any public or private metro Seattle school. The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) named Ken “Coach of the Year” for Washington State the same year. The Seattle Times and SBLive Sports also named him “Coach of the Year.”

Ken played men’s fastpitch for six years in Canada while a teenager. He was also a college volleyball player at McGill University in Montreal. His daughters, Kaia and Nicola, are WA Ladyhawks alums and were both high school All-Americans who went on to become successful D1 pitchers. Kaia currently acts as pitching coach for the Miller/Simpson team.
